El-Rufai, Amosun, Magu join Buhari for prayers

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday joined Muslim faithful for the two-rakat Juma’at prayers inside a mosque located inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

His presence at the mosque may have put an end to speculations that he is critically ill after failing to attend the last Wednesday meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Buhari was joined at the Juma’at by Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai; and his Ogun State counterpart, Ibikunle Amosun.

Others at the prayer session were Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN); Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali; Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello; and the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, among others.

The President and El-Rufai returned to his (the President’s) official residence after the prayer.

El-Rufai whose September 2016 letter to Buhari went viral recently told State House correspondents that nobody could stop him from visiting the President.

The governor however admitted that while there are people who like him in the Presidential Villa, there are others who do not.

He described the situation as normal.
