National Conference Chairman's wife, Mariam Kutigi dies

The wife of Justice Idris  Kutigi (pictured above), the Chairman of the ongoing National Conference, Mariam, has passed on. She died in the early hours of this morning at the National Hospital Abuja. Her demise was announced this morning at the Conference. The conference session has been adjourned till Monday June 2nd. May her soul rest in peace...amen.

Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode on Thursday declared Friday, June 12 as a Work Free Day in commemoration of the annulment of the June 12, 1993 elections which was presumed to have been won by late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola. Former World Cup winners beat higher-ranked Switzerland 5-2 to make it two wins out of two at Brazil 2014. Free-flowing France blew away in-form Switzerland with a three-goal first-half barrage en route a thumping 5-2 World Cup Group E win that virtually assures them of qualification for the second round. France blasted two goals within 66 seconds as Olivier Giroud headed them into the lead after 17 minutes and Blaise Matuidi added a second almost straight from the restart, while Mathieu Valbuena got a breakaway third late in the half after Swiss keeper Diego Benaglio had earlier saved a Karim Benzema penalty.
