Ganiyu Adams, the national coordinator of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) has said the death of Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade, the Olubuse II, is an irreparable loss which he described as the “biggest Elephant transited to the vault”. Yuguda, Dahiru join Green Party of Nigeria

The immediate past governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Isa Yuguda; his commissioners, campaign directors and supporters have joined the Green Party of Nigeria. Others, who joined the GPN, are a former national organising secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Umaru Dahiru; and a former minister, Alhaji Habibu Aliyu. Yuguda, a two-term governor of Bauchi State, won the election on the platform of the then All Nigeria Peoples Party in 2007.  Years after assumption of office, he defected to the PDP. He was re-elected for a second term under the PDP.  He dumped the party in April 2016, less than one year after handing over power to the All Progressives Congress. Yuguda, in a letter addressed to the PDP chairman, said he dumped the PDP because of the shocking revelations of embezzlement of the $2.1bn meant for arms procurement.

I joined APC to put Wike on his toes –Princewill

F ormer governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Rivers State, Prince Tonye Princewill, has said he does not join the All Progressives Congress to become the next governor of the state.  Princewill said he moved from the Labour Congress to the APC to rebuild the party in the state and make it stronger to win the 2019 general elections in the state. Speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, he maintained that with him in the APC, Governor Nyesom Wike would be on his toes.  Princewill said, “I moved to the APC because of my love for Rivers State. I was able to join the APC to strengthen the party and make it move forward.
