THE general overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has said that jollof rice and chicken being enjoyed by the students of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, way back in 1962, made him to choose the UNN as a university where he would do his first degree. Adeboye who was awarded with an honorarily doctorate degree of Doctor of Divinity, DD by the University on Tuesday, said that he developed interest in the University when he went with his fellow students on an excursion to UNN in 1962 and saw students eating jollof rice with half a chicken. The cleric said that when he saw the way the students were enjoying then, he decided that he God permitted, he would come to UNN to study and lucky enough, the following year, 1963, he gained admission into the prestigious University. Stop work, APC warns NDDC MD

Against the backdrop of last week’s dissolution of boards and agencies by President Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress, APC in the south south has warned the Managing Director of NDDC, Dan Abia to stop work and desist from continuously occupying the said office as the MD. National Vice Chairman, South South of APC, Prince Hilliard Eta in a statement issued in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital on Sunday, said the warning was on the heels of report that Mr. Abia has continued to occupy the office of the Commission’s MD and has made Nigerians believe that his position was not affected by the recent dissolution of Boards and Agencies by the President. Coach Jose Mourinho and two other staff of Chelsea Football Club have been charged by the Football Association in England following the club's 2-1 loss to Sunderland. Others facing FA's misconduct charge are Assistant manager, Rui Faria and their Brazilian midfielder Ramires. While Mourinho's offence is because of the comments he madeafter the Sunderland match at Stamford Bridge, Ramires has been charged because of an off-the-ball incident he had with a player of Sunderland. Faria was charged with two counts of misconduct that include the use of abusive words against the match officials.
