GEJ Appoints Bode George's Wife As NDLEA Director General

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has appointed Mrs. Roli Bode-George as the Director-General of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

Mrs Bode-George takes over from Mr Olufemi Ajayi, who is now the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF).

The appointment is with immediate effect.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has approved the appointment of chief executive officers of nine government agencies in the state. Notice of the approval is contained in a statement signed by his Director General, Media and Communication, Baba Halilu Dantiye, in Kano on Thursday. Buhari shunned official for undermining Osinbajo, says presidential aide

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, on Tuesday disclosed that ailing President  Muhammadu Buhari  recently turned back a  government  official from London where he is currently receiving medical attention for trying to undermine the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo. Shehu said this in an interview on Channels Televi sion’s  programme, Sunrise Daily. He gave the example to buttress his position that there was no truth in claims that some  ministers  were shunning Osinbajo and reporting to Buhari in London where he has been since May 7. He said the official, who he did not name, went to the President with some documents but he (Buhari) turned the official back. Okojie dismisses low ranking of Nigerian universities

Prof. Julius Okojie, the Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC), on Monday, said the standard of Nigerian universities was high in spite of their low global ranking. Okojie, who said this at the opening of a two-day workshop on African Centres of Excellence (ACE) Project Post-Effectiveness in Abuja, said that the problem with Nigerian universities was low Internet presence. NAN reports that Nigeria has 10 out of 19 African Centres of Excellence. According to Okojie, the Nigerian Research and Education Network (NgREN) is solving the problem of Internet connectivity in Nigerian universities, saying it will improve global presence of Nigerian universities.
