Past SUG PRO of Lautech Share his Opinion on Resumption Date

If what the VC says is anything to go by about our resumption date, then it means that the saga between the university management and ASUU has been resolved and therefore, we expect that the pre-degree class should resume back with immediate effect and part-time students screening that was disturbed last week should also commence immediately. Therefore, failure for the two above mentioned students to resumed back to action means:
* That the VC has only brainwashed the protesting students in order to avoid them causing nuisance at the senate building.
* That the VC is only buying time for himself to resolve the saga between the management and ASUU.
* The VC saying registration begins immediately means that the management is likely to give us some weeks for registration without lectures because they know ASUU will not take classes.
Therefore, if our result is not ready by Monday, then the university management has failed because that has been the major reason why the senate has not been able to decide our resumption date. We therefore refused to be fooled by the VC and our dearest students union leaders should be at alert for the furiousness of the majority of the students who gave them the mandate if all abovementioned issues are not thoroughly addressed before Monday, 30th June 2014. I believe by now, the information about a university resumption should have been duly out on either the university website or any Nigerian newspaper at least, 2weeks prior to resumption. I wish all Ladokites mercy journey as they prepare to return to school for the 2013/2014 academic session and also hope that this time, they (university management, ASUU & SUG) won't let us down.

Buhari shunned official for undermining Osinbajo, says presidential aide

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, on Tuesday disclosed that ailing President  Muhammadu Buhari  recently turned back a  government  official from London where he is currently receiving medical attention for trying to undermine the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo. Shehu said this in an interview on Channels Televi sion’s  programme, Sunrise Daily. He gave the example to buttress his position that there was no truth in claims that some  ministers  were shunning Osinbajo and reporting to Buhari in London where he has been since May 7. Okojie dismisses low ranking of Nigerian universities

Prof. Julius Okojie, the Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC), on Monday, said the standard of Nigerian universities was high in spite of their low global ranking. Okojie, who said this at the opening of a two-day workshop on African Centres of Excellence (ACE) Project Post-Effectiveness in Abuja, said that the problem with Nigerian universities was low Internet presence. NAN reports that Nigeria has 10 out of 19 African Centres of Excellence. According to Okojie, the Nigerian Research and Education Network (NgREN) is solving the problem of Internet connectivity in Nigerian universities, saying it will improve global presence of Nigerian universities.
