Omisore Promises Ife South Communities Roads, Health Centres

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the August 9, 2014 gubernatorial election in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has assured communities in Ife South local government area of the state of speedy construction of roads in the area if elected as governor of the state.

He also promised the rural dwellers in the communities, namely Ifetedo, Garage Olode, Aba Oyinbo and Mefoworade that standard Primary Health Care Centres (PHCs) would be built to address the medical challenges of the people in the areas.

Omisore, who made these promises during the continuation of his house-to-house campaign to communities in Ife South local government area, identified with the problems confronting the natives, assuring that with his expected victory on August 9, all the difficulties facing the people would effectively be tackled by his government.

The former deputy governor of the state who said his government would dwell more on the welfare of the rural inhabitants described provision of quality roads as central to the transportation of farm produce from the rural to urban centres, thereby enhancing social and economic development of Osun.

While calling on those who have not obtained their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to collect them from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Office in Osogbo, Omisore said “this is the only weapon that you can use to bring about the long overdue change in Osun so that poverty, frustration and slavery can be finally stopped”.

Earlier in his remark, the traditional ruler of Garage Olode, Oba David Omisore, who spoke on behalf of other monarchs, appealed to the PDP standard bearer on the need to construct good roads, which would assist the farmers to move their harvested crops to the cities.
