PDP Reps Endorse Jonathan For Second Term

Members of the House of Representatives under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last night unanimously endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan as the party’s flag bearer for 2015 presidential election.

Rising from a closed door meeting with the president and governors under the PDP platform, House leader, Hon. Mulikat Adeola Akande flanked by the lawmakers told journalists that the PDP caucus of the House specifically asked the president to contest for a second term.

She said, “We are PDP caucus of the House of Representatives, a meeting like this is not strange, because we met with the President who is our leader.
We deliberated on issues affecting our party and on our own we decided to pass a vote of confidence on Mr. President and also endorse him for a second term.”

Asked whether the President accepted to contest, she said, “We did the endorsement and we are urging him to run for second term.”

Asked why the Speaker of the House, Aminu Tambuwal was absent at the meeting, Akande-Adeola said, “I am sure when you see Mr. Speaker, you will ask him. This is a PDP meeting, obviously he will have his reasons why he was not at the meeting.”
