Buhari can't resign over ‘mere sickness’ - Kayode Ojo

A chieftain of the APC in Ekiti state, Engineer Kayode Ojo yesterday cautioned those calling for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari on the grounds of ill health to do it with human face and avoid denigrating a president for falling sick while in office.

Ojo, who described the protest as constitutional, however, cautioned that the President could not resign on "mere sickness."

Ojo stated this in Ijero Ekiti on Friday while declaring his intention to vie for the governorship seat of the state in 2018.

This followed up as a result of the two days protest staged by Civil Society groups in Abuja, led by Charles Oputa (Charly Boy and Mr. Jim Iyke, where they demanded that  Buhari should either return home from his treatment abroad or resign from office having spent over 90 days in a London Hospital.

The governorship aspirant urged the citizens to support restructuring that would bring positive changes and not those that will cause cleavage in terms of ethnic and religious compositions.

Ojo at the event attended by toof chieftains of the party was received by APC local government Chairman in Ijero Council , Hon Bright Adeyemo.
