Yuguda, Dahiru join Green Party of Nigeria
The immediate past governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Isa Yuguda; his commissioners, campaign directors and supporters have joined the Green Party of Nigeria.
Others, who joined the GPN, are a former national organising secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Umaru Dahiru; and a former minister, Alhaji Habibu Aliyu.
Yuguda, a two-term governor of Bauchi State, won the election on the platform of the then All Nigeria Peoples Party in 2007.
Years after assumption of office, he defected to the PDP. He was re-elected for a second term under the PDP.
He dumped the party in April 2016, less than one year after handing over power to the All Progressives Congress.
Yuguda, in a letter addressed to the PDP chairman, said he dumped the PDP because of the shocking revelations of embezzlement of the $2.1bn meant for arms procurement.
