Zidane agrees new deal as Real Madrid double his wages

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has agreed a new three-year contract that will see him earn twice his previous annual pay, according to reports from Spain.

Club sources according to AS say Zidane has agreed a new three-year deal, with his salary set to increase from €4.35m a year to nearly €8m a year.

Zidane who replaced Rafa Benitez as Real Madrid coach in January 2016, has enjoyed superb success in the Bernabeu hotseat, lifting six trophies in the space of 19 months.

By beating Manchester United in the UEFA Super Cup in Skopje, Zidane's Real Madrid have deepened their footprint in European football and solidified their crown as kings of the continent.

The legendary side that won five European Cups in succession between 1956 and 1960 now have rivals as the greatest ever, with the current Los Blancos squad who have won three of the last four Champions Leagues.
