Lampard reacts to Morata show against Arsenal

Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard has given his thoughts on Alvaro Morata who made his debut appearance for Chelsea in a competitive game on Sunday.

Conte brought on Morata with 16 minutes remaining but the former Juventus striker struggled to make an impression even losing his kick during the penalty shoot out.

Speaking to BT Sport about the performance of Chelsea’s new signing, Lampard backed Morata to recover from the setback ahead of the start of the Premier League.

“He came on for ten minutes and made an impact straight away,” Lampard told BT Sport.

“Another week of fitness and I’d be very surprised if he’s not starting for Chelsea next weekend.”

Morata is one of four new arrivals at Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea have also signed Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero, AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger and Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.

The Blues start their Premier League campaign with a home clash against Burnley on Saturday.

Ganduje appoints chief executives for 9 agencies

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has approved the appointment of chief executive officers of nine government agencies in the state. Notice of the approval is contained in a statement signed by his Director General, Media and Communication, Baba Halilu Dantiye, in Kano on Thursday. The statement quoted Dantiye as saying Alhaji Mustapha Buhari and Retired Group Capt. Muhammad Kura are the new Managing Directors of the state Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) and the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB) respectively. Alhaji Muhammad Adamu was appointed the Managing Director of Kano Urban Planning Development Authority (KANUPDA), while Alhaji Sani Gabasawa is the Managing Director, Youth Directorate for Economic Empowerment.
