Ex-APC chairmanship aspirant, supporters defect to PDP in Kuje

A former chairmanship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the last council election in Kuje Area Council, Alhaji Hassan Bako, has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday.

Bako, who defected with 87 of his supporters, was received by the PDP Kuje central ward chairman, Alhaji Danlami Tanko Bawasa.

The chairmanship aspirant, who spoke on behalf of his supporters, said they decided to dump the ruling party due to  lack of internal democracy.

He alleged that he had been neglected as he was never invited to any executive or stakeholders meeting.

“If you are somewhere and you didn’t enjoy that place, what are you supposed to do? So it seems to me there is no internal democracy in APC government in Kuje so I decided to leave with some of my supporters,” he said.

The Kuje PDP central ward chairman, Alhaji Bawasa, while receiving the decampees, assured them that the party would always carry them along in its activities.

Meanwhile, the APC chairman in the area, Godwin Poyi, said the party was unperturbed by the defection of the chairmanship aspirant and his supporters.

He wished them success in their new party.
